“Everyone who is born in this great land has only one identity – we are all Indians” (Unknown)
Diya Foundation celebrated the 72nd Republic Day on 25th January 2021. It was a fun-filled program in which parents, trainees and trainers took active part. This program was based on the theme of “Unity in Diversity” and to also take a moment to thank our soldiers and warriors who have been selflessly serving our motherland.
The program commenced at 10:30 am with a warm welcome by one of our trainees, Ms. Angel, followed by a special message from our beloved Mrs Sarah, CEO of Diya Foundation. Later, the online events began. First, a Fancy Dress Competition took place in which all the participants presented themselves in traditional attire, representing the different states of India. This was followed by a Quiz on Monuments, Freedom Fighters, Emblems, Food, Attires, Cultures, Significance of Republic Day, the Constitution, Citizens’ Rights, etc. The participants did really well and got most of the questions right. The final event was Poster-Making on such themes as Republic Day, Democracy and Unity in Diversity, in which the Studio C Cube trainees submitted a digital poster and other trainees made the posters on the spot. The judges for the competition, Ms Marguerita Lobo and Ms Maria Santamaria were very supportive and encouraging. After the online events, the celebration formally ended at 12:30 pm with a vote of thanks delivered by Ms Sneha, one of our trainees.
