Pre-Vocational Training: Building Skills for Independence & Employability
The Pre-Vocational Training program focuses on nurturing independence through structured, hands-on learning. It empowers trainees with practical skills that improve daily living, strengthen self-care habits, and prepare them for meaningful work opportunities.

Key Learning Areas:
- Household & Organizational Skills
Activities like table setting, cutlery sorting, clothing organization, and bead jewellery making help develop fine motor coordination, attention to detail, and a sense of responsibility. - Housekeeping Competencies
Trainees practice dusting, sweeping, and mopping—skills that reinforce discipline, independence, and pride in maintaining their environment. - Personal Care & Hygiene
Regular guidance on brushing teeth, nail trimming, and grooming essentials fosters healthy self-care routines and boosts confidence. - Financial Literacy
Practical lessons on identifying currency, budgeting, saving, and responsible spending prepare trainees to manage personal finances independently. - Culinary Skills
Under trainer supervision, participants safely handle kitchen tools and prepare simple meals such as sandwiches, tea, rice, and vegetables. For example, Jaya (name changed) made remarkable progress in confidently handling a knife while cutting vegetables. - Fitness & Well-Being
A structured fitness regimen enhances strength, balance, and overall health, supporting a holistic approach to personal development.
Through this blend of skill-building, guided practice, and confidence development, the Pre-Vocational Training program ensures trainees are well-prepared to transition into independent living and future vocational pathways.
